Owned By The Communities We Serve
Windigo Construction is a division of Windigo Community Development Corporation (WCDC), a 100% First Nation-owned economic development organization representing five communities in Northwestern Ontario: Bearskin Lake First Nation, Cat Lake First Nation, North Caribou Lake First Nation, Sachigo Lake First Nation, and Slate Falls Nation.
Founded in 1994, WCDC was created to ensure that First Nations communities could actively participate in the economic growth taking place within their traditional territories. Over the past three decades, the organization has grown into a diversified business group with operations across construction, remote camp services, property management, industrial support, and supply services throughout Northern Ontario.
Through its ownership of successful and high-performing companies, WCDC creates long-term economic opportunity, meaningful employment, and sustainable development for its member communities. Today, the organization supports more than 120 employees, operates over 20 active companies, and maintains a workforce made up of approximately 70% Indigenous employees.
As part of this network, Windigo Construction is committed to delivering high-quality construction services while supporting the long-term vision of community growth, self-reliance, and economic strength.
